Offered here for your consideration is a fine antique 18th Century English porcelain cup & saucer.
With green painted floral motifs throughout both cup & saucer. There are gilt highlights to the cup's rim and base, the saucer's rim, and the painted flowers.
Marked to the base with a gilt Chelsea-Derby maker's mark.
Simply a great early English porcelain cup and saucer!
It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition.
The cup's rim retains almost none of its gilding, and there is rubbing to the the cup's handle & footrim. There is some staing at the base of the cup as well as to it's foot, and there a chip to the the cup's foot a chip. The saucer's rim is sligthly misshapen and has a kiln mark or blemish in the same area and rubbing to its gilding. Otherwise, there is wear to the enamel decoration on both peices, fine & light surface scratches throughout, and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
