A fine antique china chocolate pot. Made by Copelands, China for J.E. Caldwell Co. of Philadelphia. With polychrome transfer, floral sprigs, and gilded decoration throughout. The chocolate pot has an integral strainer. Pattern no. 5977. A real rarity! Date: Late 19th or Early 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: The pot lid have fine and tight crazing throughout. There is a firing flaw where the spout meets the neck, some minor rubbing to the gold, some minor staining to the interior (or residue from the firing), some very fine light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
