Several years ago we had to clean out a deceased relative’s home. There was a small cedar chest that had a lock but no key.  If you have ever been tasked with this, you know it can be overwhelming.  Last week, we found a key that fit and were surprised by what we found.  There are items we must take to our jeweler, we don’t recognize many of the things.  The newest item was an Elzac brooch made between 1942-1944.  This lavalier is estimated to have been made ca 1890.

The lavalier in this listing has a small diamond set in a rosette or buttercup pronged setting. There is a small gold ball in the center of the drop. The bail is marked 10k.  This piece is in very nice antique condition.  It measures 1 3/8” long.  It is so delicate looking, and must not have been worn often.  When we say small diamond, we mean small. We are not jewelers and estimate the diamond to be 5 points or under.
