Meet rhythmic mastermind Manolito Rodríguez

The pride of Puerto Rico, percussionist and singer Manolito Rodríguez has been studying and mastering the percussive craft from a very early age. Recording on Néstor Torres’s Grammy-winning work, This Side of Paradise, at the age of 15, Manolito’s future in the musical world was already as promising as could be. Since those humble beginnings, he’s done studio and stage work with legendary group La Sonora Ponceña, earned a degree in jazz and popular music from the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music, and performed with numerous orchestras, concert bands, and Latin artists to outline a truly stacked resume of rhythm. Now, Manolito’s taken his talents to the classroom as a percussion teacher at the Jesús T. Piñero Specialized Music School in Cidra, Puerto Rico, and has joined forces with Meinl to create marvelous signature musical tools for all to reap the benefits.
