For sale is a vintage set of 6 dessert or trifle spoons in the original box along with the large serving spoon. They are marked EPNS.Al.90 which AI indicates stands for electro plated nickel silver.  British electroplaters used an alphabetical grading scale to rate the thickness of the silver plating.  AI (often stamped as A1) represents "Superior Quality," the highest tier available for consumer silverplate. It means a generous amount of pure silver was bonded to the base metal, ensuring it lasts for decades without rubbing. I see no wear to the silver plate on these pieces. The large serviing spoon measures 8 inches in length & the 6 small spoons are 5 1/4 inches. The box is marked Viners of Sheffield, England & the back of the server spoon also says "Made in Sheffield, England". The set is in lovely vintage condition.  (item # 21-98)
