I obtained this myself in-person at the teams' hotels in the mid-late 70's. . . .

To my way of thinking, a Vintage Signed in-person item--while the player was in the midst of his career--is worth quite a bit more than an item signed Through-The-Mail (TTM) while they were a player, or a piece signed long after the player's career has ended (say 6 months ago in many cases!).  These cards slabbed by PSA or JSA will sell for $50-$100+.  I just don't want to go through the hassle for thousands of items.    (Also, as a side note compare the signatures players used to give out--when people learned cursive and how to sign their name!--with the absolute garbage signatures given out and paid top dollar for--something I can't understand--nowadays!)
