Item This vintage blank note card reproduces GERMINAL, one of the 12 allegorical illustrations of the French Republican Calendar (Calendrier Républicain, used in France 1792-1806). The original artwork was designed by Nyphe del. and engraved by Freuier sculp. in the late 1790s; the original is held by the Bibliothèque Nationale de Paris. This reproduction card was published by Pierre Belvédère Inc. of Montréal and printed in Belgium (© Jacquet, Brussels). Card is unused, blank inside. Exact production year is not printed on the card; Pierre Belvédère was founded in 1960, so this dates to sometime after that, but no more precise date can be confirmed without a matching box or envelope.
