This striking Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) features the USS Patoka (AO-9), the U.S. Navy's first airship tender. The image shows a dirigible airship, likely the USS Los Angeles (ZR-3), hovering over the ship's specialized mooring mast. The name 'PATOKA' is clearly legible on the bow. Dating to the mid-1920s, this photograph offers a detailed look at naval aviation history.
