The labels are a little confusing. My guess is that this was an overseas re-broadcast of the domestic airing of "The Bell Telephone Hour" and that '48 was the re-broadcast year, #76 the program number (for overseas purposes). That, at least, is my story.
We recently purchased a large record collection which contained, among other things, a substantial body of radio transcriptions on 10" acetates, by Studio Recordings Inc. and like companies. The air dates covered run from the mid-'40s to mid-'50s. A word about our grading: the grades are visual only; the press of business is such that won't have time to listen to most of these and so won't be able to offer a test-play grade.
By way of mitigation, we received these records in what appear to be their original mailing boxes and while there has been some incidental storage damage (detailed, where appropriate) we suspect that the records went unplayed. Indeed, to judge from the fact that the majority of the owner's 12" records were factory-sealed the collection seemed more a function of an acquisitive urge than of an active desire to hear the records. We've tried, despite this, to keep our grades conservative as even a clean looking record is only as good as its pressing and these, we suspect, were competent but no more than that.
Our descriptions (title/artist/date/network) are taken straight from the labels. Again, it would be nice to put in some research but there simply won't be time save in exceptional instances.
