Well, just look at that back view. The décolletage line of this sporty dress is superb! McCall 7302 calls it a sports dress, but it has enough personality to take you well beyond the tennis court or marina—and enough freedom to dance the night away in style.
Dated 1948 on the back of the envelope, this design has a beautifully plunging sunback, a fitted waist and a wonderfully full, graceful skirt. The back view features that stunning plunge, framed so beautifully by the collar. The striped version shows off the chic bias construction—and don’t you just love the pockets? That is the first thing I look for in a day dress. It is always so special to find them.
The envelope has certainly traveled a long road, but it did its most important job: it protected the complete pattern and instructions tucked safely inside. This pattern is offered here in the Outlet because of the condition of the envelope. The pattern itself is lovely, and we have included a photograph so you can see the full scoop.

🧵 CONDITION
The vintage sewing pattern is complete, with all pattern pieces and instructions present. The contents remain quite nice.
The original envelope is very distressed and shows extensive age and storage wear, including tears, splitting, creasing, discoloration, missing paper and old repairs. It may require careful handling. Please enlarge and examine all photographs, as they are an important part of the condition description.
The envelope may be weary, but it deserves a little credit—it protected the precious pattern inside for more than 75 years.
🧵 A NOTE FROM VINTAGE4ME2
