Vintage gelatin silver print by the Austrian sculptor Hans Bitterlich (1860–1949), a full-length study of a standing male nude photographed against a plain ground, the subject positioned on a low wooden platform. Bitterlich taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and is best known for the Empress Elisabeth Monument in the Volksgarten; photographs of this kind served sculptors as anatomical reference for modeling the figure.
