A RARE ORIGINAL "SECRET" WW2 British Army "DEFENCE OVERPRINT" map of 's-HERTOGENBOSCH in THE NETHERLANDS which was produced for OPERATION ALAN at the highly detailed scale of 1:25,000.

It provides the latest available ENEMY DEFENCES information correct to the 20th October 1944. This was just two days before OPERATION ALAN began with the '53rd Welsh' and '7th Armoured' Divisions tasked with capturing the city of s-HERTOGENBOSCH as part of the wider OPERATION PHEASANT.

The rear is taken up by a "DEFENCE LEGEND" detailing the many symbols used.

This example was actually retained in the British military archives and was eventually disposed of around two decades ago with the closure of one of their map depositories. As such, it has always been stored properly and has never been folded.

It will therefore be shipped rolled in a tube.
