Vintage Formica Dining Table - Teak Effect Drop Leaf Gateleg - Mid Century MCM
Description
A vintage "Phillipson Tables" drop leaf dining table with a compact gateleg design and warm teak-effect finish. A practical space-saving piece, ideal as a dining table, kitchen table or occasional table, with both leaves folding down neatly when not required.
The table has two large hinged drop leaves supported by folding gateleg frames, allowing it to be used fully extended, partially opened or folded into a narrow console-sized form for storage. It stands on simple tapered legs with shaped detailing to the central frame.
The original Phillipson Tables label remains attached beneath the top. Constructed from a combination of Formica plywood board and solid timber, with the striped grain to the upper surface likely being a teak or similar effect finish. Likely dating from around the 1960s-1970s.

Condition
In well used vintage condition, showing surface scratches, scuffs, marks, stains and general finish wear from age and previous use.
The top has various scratches and marks, together with some chips and small areas of finish loss, including a noticeable small patch beside the central join. There is further rubbing and wear around the rounded edges and corners.
The underside shows staining, marks and general age-related wear. The wooden gateleg frames and legs have further scratches, scuffs and knocks from use.
Overall it remains a good practical vintage table with an attractive period appearance and particularly useful folding design.
Would benefit from a good clean and polish, or ideal for refinishing.
