A 19th-century Japanese Meiji period bronze vase featuring high-relief decoration depicting a pair of cranes amongst pine foliage. The baluster-form vase has a rich dark patina with warm copper undertones and natural age-related verdigris highlights around the lower body and base.
There is a vertical split running down from the upper rim shoulder, as well as dents to the body and edge of the foot rim. The bronze displays authentic surface wear, patina, and light oxidation consistent with age.
