2 x Fulgurite Crystals Fossilised Lightning Morocco in Presentation Box

Fulgurite, commonly known as "fossilized lightning," is a natural, hollow glass tube or crust formed when a lightning bolt strikes silica-rich sand, soil, or rock. The intense electrical discharge - reaching temperatures over 1,800°C to 30,000°C - instantly melts and fuses the surrounding minerals before cooling rapidly.

Fulgurites are useful as scientists can analyse trapped gases inside to reconstruct ancient atmospheric conditions and past lightning activity. They are also valued by mineral collectors and used in crystal healing communities, where it is thought to symbolize intense energy and grounding. 

These fulgurite specimens were formed within the sandy quartz-rich dunes of the Moroccan desert, where dry conditions and high-frequency lightning strikes create perfect circumstances for their formation. 

You will receive two randomly selected fulgurite crystals similar to those pictured, each measuring approximately 20 - 40 mm long and 10 -15 mm wide. They are presented in an elegant black cardboard gift box, which is 78 x 60 x 25mm, for display purposes and to keep them safe - it also contains an information label giving a certified description of the contents.
