Rover Defender 110
Defender 110, TD5, Hard Top, Ex-Utility, Galvanised Chassis, Complete
Rebuild.
This Defender has had an extensive rebuild. The galvanised Richards
chassis and all the parts in the rebuild have done less than 2000 miles. Less
than 500 miles ago, I have had a Turner Engineering Strengthened Head fitted,
and new starter motor.
This is an ex-Scottish-Power Utility Landrover with hatches on the sides of the hardtop and
new storage boxes fitted below.
I will list below everything I can recall, it is basically a nut and
bolt rebuild completed about 4 years ago.
The bulkhead was rebuilt with new metal repair sections on the corners
of the windscreen, around the vents, door pillars and footwells. The bulkhead
was resprayed off the vehicle. The doors, seals, window windings, locks,
handles and windscreen are new. The front and rear floors have been replaced,
including all the rear subfloor. New storage boxes were made, the butt cappings
replaced and new sills. All bushes, steering damper, front prop, brake pipes,
disks, hoses and master cylinder and clutch.
New Terrafirma shocks, springs and turrets and a plastic fuel tank. New
radiator, intercooler, fan and all hoses, new starter motor, the turbo was
reconditioned. Headlights, indicators and rear lenses are all new, the
electrics were refitted and the dash rebuilt. It has been sprayed underneath
with black cobra paint and resprayed inside and out. There is one panel, photo
included, which has a few dents and rivets where it has had a small bump
previously. A few of the steel hinges are beginning to rust abit, especially on
the storage locker doors, I have included a few photos of the bits that could
do with a touch up. I have the paint codes for it.
The bulkhead is sound proofed, the floor has new rubber mats that cover the foot-wells and over the gear levers. There are new anthracite steel wheels, the Insa tyres are not the best on major roads but fine running around locally, and great for off road. The transfer box has also had an overhaul so the diff-locks and 4 wheel drive work easily, the diff-locks were sticking but this has been resolved with some freeing up of rods and a few new brackets. Everything has been refitted or replaced other than the gearbox which seems fine and the bottom part of the engine is original but sounds good. Front diff is as original, rear axle has had a bearing in the diff recently.
Its currently running well and this Landrover if looked after has a lot of life left in it.
MOT is due 12 April 2027, Message
