An antique Burgess’s Genuine Anchovy Paste pot lid. It measures 3⅜” (8.5cm) in diameter  x ⅝” (1.5cm) deep. Burgess’s built a new factory and moved its manufacturing operations to Hythe Road, Willesden, N.W. in 1908; the original shop in The Strand, closed in 1914. In good condition – clean crisp transfer, no smudging; there are three chips on the underside of the rim; very small crack (last photo).
