Beautiful volume, cover of red Morocco leather with gold gilt lettering and fore edges. This book is a wide-ranging survey of the literature and the study of science during the medieval and renaissance periods. Striking color illustrations with tissue guards and many black and white illustrations enhance the beauty and richness of this volume. This book was from the library of noted historical author, Samuel Shellabarger, with bookplate on the inside cover indicating this fact.
