Original
1930s Art Deco Egyptian Revival Orange Cameo Glass Palm Tree Table Lamp
with Original Marbled Glass Shade.
An exceptionally attractive and highly unusual original Art Deco table lamp
with decorative satin glass body and original brass fittings throughout.
The lamp displays many of the characteristics associated with the Egyptian Revival movement, so fashionable during the inter-war years.
The hand-moulded Art Deco marbled glass shade, displaying dramatic coral-red veining flowing through opaque white glass together with deeply moulded geometric relief decoration around its lower section.
The shade is completed by its original cast brass decorative gallery, pierced crown and matching brass finial, all surviving together after almost a century.
The lamp has been professionally rewired using antique-style braided cable and has been electrically tested for safe everyday use whilst preserving its original appearance.
When illuminated, the richly marbled shade produces an exceptionally warm amber glow complementing the satin glass body below.
Where ever displayed, this remains an unusually decorative
and highly evocative survivor from the golden age of Art Deco lighting.
Professionally rewired using period style braided cable, the lamp is supplied
fully tested and ready for immediate use.
