Benson Style Brass Candlestick with Ball counterweight & Cast Arched Claw Feet, candlestick appearance to be floating, there is a small bit of candle wax residue inside the holder, but it is in excellent condition with beautiful patina aging. Like new/used.

This item is a brass candle holder designed in the Arts and Crafts style to sit on a piano, using a ball counterweight to balance a taper candle. The claw feet have felt attached to keep them from scratching the piano or other surface. It is often attributed to or created in the style of William Arthur Benson ca 1900. The design features a long arm, a heavy ball for counterbalance, and claw feet.

Clawed feet and the brass ball cannon ball counter weight allows it to overhang safely from a mantle or table top. It is a beautiful brass patina and will add charm to any decor.

These holders were historically used to illuminate sheet music on pianos.

Made of solid brass, no markings. Approximately 13” long, 5” wide and 6” tall, it comes in weighing 4lb 12oz. Will be securely wrapped and packaged. Has been in storage in my basement for several years and needs a new home where it can be displayed and appreciated.
