Hassle-Free, Self-Regulating Heating Cable

This fresh-water hose includes a cable with a built-in heating element to keep your water from icing up when the temperature drops below freezing. Simply plug the cable into the 120V AC outlet on your RV. The element automatically activates when the outside temperature gets too cold, warming up the water and keeping it flowing so that it makes it to your RV without freezing. And if things get too hot outside, the heater turns off to prevent the cable from overheating.

• What End Of The AquaFresh Heated Drinking Water Hose W01-5325 Has The Thermostat?
  Hey Brad, thanks for reaching out. In regards to the AquaFresh Heated Drinking Water Hose for RVs # W01-5325, the female end is the end with the thermostat. That's the section that needs to be exposed to the outside air so the thermostat can sense when the temperature drops and turn the heat tape on. If that end sits inside a warm, heated wet bay, the hose may never energize and you could end up with a frozen line outside.

• Can Multiple W01-5315 Heated Water Hosed Be Connected Together
  According to the manufacturer, you can indeed connect multiple hoses together. However, we do offer the hose in a 25 foot length as part # W01-5325 or a 50 foot length as # W01-5350. Rather than daisy chaining multiple hoses together, I'd recommend just going with a longer hose to save the inconvenience of running several extension cords to power each length.   The AquaFresh heated supply hose, part # W01-5325, doesn't actually heat the water. It just keeps it from freezing. There isn't an actual temperature the heating element gets to. It's 150 watts running through the heating source and gets hotter as the ambient temperature drops. It begins running between 45 and 50 F degrees and has been tested to keep water from freezing in temperatures as low as -15 degrees F.   The 25' AquaFresh High Pressure Heated Fresh Water Supply Hose # W01-5325 actually has the heating element running the length of the hose to ensure that the water does not clog up. Because of this no insulation is required. This also comes in a 15' length as part # W01-5315 and a 50' length as part # W01-5350.

  You do not have to have the water running if the AquaFresh High Pressure Heated Fresh Water Supply Hose # W01-5325 is plugged in. It can be left plugged in all the time which will prevent the water that normally stays in the hose after you turn it off from freezing. It would not heat the hose to the point of damage if left on.
