1930s Advertising Booklets & Ephemera
Telefunken was a pioneer in corporate design during the 1930s, heavily incorporating the Art Deco movement into their marketing. Collectors actively seek several types of paper ephemera from this decade:
- The "Musikschränke" Literature: These are trade booklets and high-quality fold-out brochures showcasing Telefunken's luxury "music cabinets"—combined wireless radios and record players wrapped in premium woodwork.
- Monthly Release Booklets: Telefunken regularly printed small, pocket-sized monthly booklets listing their newest classical, opera, and dance band shellac releases.
- Branded Record Bags: Dealers distributed records in heavy paper shopping sleeves. In the early 1930s, these featured bold, minimalist geometric graphics with designated blank spaces for local dealers to stamp their shop addresses.
