For sale is a pair of 3D printed (aftermarket) housing for the visor mirror of a R129 or W124. Mirror and diffusers are pre-installed and included.
These are made using Beige plastic. We supply these in a basic beige colour. We can't always guarantee it will exactly match your interior, they can be colour coded to get an exact match.
We made this for our R129, which had broken hinges on both sides. Unfortunately the original part was always weak at the hinges, we have redesigned it from ground up and strengthened the hinges, making them 30mm wide. The hinges have metal pins inside to strengthen them.
The lid has magnets inside it to lock it in place when shut. It also locks into place when opened (using friction locking). The light activation stub is also woking, it will activate the light when the lid is opened; it is made from slightly flexible plastic to make it less brittle.
Each housing assembly is made to order; therefore it can take a few days to produce these, depending on the workload.
Mirror and light diffusers are included and are already pre-installed. You will receive a complete mirror housing unit that is ready to install.

What you don't get:-
The visor has the backing part that contains the electronics and the bulbs, that part is not included. Just the front part that holds the mirror.

This is a completely redesigned, proprietary part, it is not made by Mercedes-Benz or anyone else, only we make this part.
Compatibility:-
Successfully installed on 1992 SL and 1999 SL, which suggests all R129 models are covered.
It is also claimed this can fit the w124 but we've not tried it.
Great care must be taken when removing the existing part and installing this part, the visor is very delicate and can easily be damaged. Only attempt to use this housing if you are confident with installing it yourself or seek professional help. Please seek advice on removing the existing housing. From what we understand it is quite simple.
The new housing is easy to click into place, make sure the top legs are inserted into place first then carefully press the 3 bottom legs starting at either end and working your way across. Please ensure you visor is not already damaged where the legs clip in.
