These charming bowls are a hand-painted porcelain blanks manufactured by Lorenz Hutschenreuther in Selb, Bavaria.  In the early to mid-20th century, European manufacturers regularly exported plain white porcelain ("whiteware" or blanks) to the United States and other markets. The illustration features whimsical, anthropomorphic vegetable figures (a turnip alongside a fork-legged carrot and a Rutabaga) reminiscent of classic early 20th-century storybook illustrations or folk-art characters.  The bowls are individually signed in the lower right corner by the decorator, A. Yeaman.  They measure 6.25-inches diameter; 2-inches tall.
