A RARE VINTAGE RUBY GLASS GILT RIMMED HANDKERCHIEF VASE, BELIEVED EARLY CHANCE GLASS.

Size: approx. 9cm max. high (nominally 3.5” vase) - 18cm max. width (nominally 7”)

Believed to be produced circa 1955, and regarded as being amongst the first Chance handkerchief vases made (along with blue-flashed & swirl patterned versions, as illustrated on p.107 of the superb Chance Expressions book) these early examples have a level rim rather than the pointed folds of all the later variants.

In excellent clean condition free of any chips, cracks, nicks to the delicate rim & with just an absolute minimum of any light gilt loss.

There are just some surface marks to the base rim only, thus unseen when on display.
