Powerful DAW Control Meets Onboard Creation Tools

A feature-packed MIDI controller with lock-tight DAW integration, the Novation Launchkey 88 MK4 is built around a custom-designed, 88-key, semi-weighted waterfall keybed. Additionally, this expressive playability is bolstered by 16 patented FSR velocity-sensitive pads with polyphonic aftertouch, nine faders, and eight endless rotary encoders, equipping you with inspiring hands-on control over your mixers, virtual instruments, and effects. You also get flawless compatibility with all major DAWs, including Ableton Live, Logic, Cubase, FL Studio, Reason, Bitwig, and Ardour. You'll revel in the Launchkey 88 MK4’s onboard creative tools, which include an editable Arpeggiator, three Chord modes, 30-scale Scale mode, Chord Detector, and keyboard Split/Layer functionality. Moreover, this versatile MIDI controller features comprehensive MIDI and USB class-compliant connectivity, allowing it to control software, hardware, and iOS-based devices with equal aplomb. Beyond that, it’s fully customizable through Novation’s Components software, NKS-ready for Native Instruments integration, and includes a potent software bundle chock-full of studio-grade instruments and effects. Ultimately, the Launchkey 88 MK4 is a deeply expressive and production-ready instrument guaranteed to keep you in a constant state of creative flow.

Premium controls built for expression

At the heart of the Launchkey 88 MK4 is a robust set of physical controls designed for expressive, tactile performance. Its 88 custom-designed, semi-weighted waterfall-style keys are sensitive enough for the most delicate passages, melding the feel of a premium-caliber hardware instrument with the power afforded by a modern software-based workflow. The finger-drummers here at Sweetwater really love the Launchkey 88 MK4’s 16 patented FSR velocity-sensitive pads, which feature polyphonic aftertouch and a novel radial sensor design that improves sensitivity and consistency over standard pads. Finally, this feature-laden control surface includes nine faders and eight endless rotary encoders, giving you immediate hands-on control over mixing, plugins, and effects.

DAW control and beyond

The Novation Launchkey 88 MK4 supports all major DAWs right out of the box, including Ableton Live, Logic, Cubase, FL Studio, Reason, Bitwig, and Ardour, providing you with full control over transport, navigation, mixing, EQ, clip launching, and effect parameters. Moreover, when used with Ableton Live’s Session View or Logic’s Live Loops, this MIDI keyboard controller’s 16 drum pads transform into RGB-backlit clip launchers that mirror your on-screen layout. Beyond DAW control, the Launchkey 88 MK4’s built-in creative tools include Scale mode with 30 selectable scales, three Chord modes, an editable Arpeggiator, and keyboard Split and Layer functionality, all tied together with an OLED display for real-time visual feedback. Through Novation’s Components software, you can store up to four custom mappings each for faders, pads, and encoders, while comprehensive MIDI connectivity and USB class-compliance extend full functionality to hardware synths and iOS devices.

A complete creative production package

Thanks to Novation’s included software bundle, the Launchkey 88 MK4 enables you to start creating right from day one. Ableton Live Lite provides up to eight tracks of MIDI and audio recording, reinforced by a suite of instruments and effects and bonus studio-grade sounds from Novation and Focusrite. Standout among the bundled content is Novation Play, an exclusive collaboration with Klevgrand featuring more than 80 sounds sampled from vintage synthesizers, bolstered by pre-mapped encoders, four Pad FX, and rapid preset switching. On top of that, Novation Play functions as both a standalone instrument and a plugin, making it a versatile creative addition right from the get-go.
