Philodendron Mexicanum is an easy to care for.  The 1st 2 pictures are the plant in auction.  The last 3 pictures are my stock plant.

Temperature: ideally, should be 75F to 100F for fastest growing.  From 35F to 60 F, it survives, but not growing either. Below 35 F, it will probably die. The hardiness zone for this species is probably 10b.

Light: indirect sunlight.  A few hours of direct sunlight daily will not kill the plant once it is established (with a healthy
root system and a few leaves). Once it's still being settled, leave it in the shade.

Moisture: it loves humidity.  The higher is the better. It comes from the tropical rainforest. Higher humidity will make the leaves larger.

Watering: Philodendron loves humidity but also loves air. So don't drown your plant with water. You don't
need to keep the soil wet the whole time, but don't let it completely dried out either.  Depend on your current weather, you water accordingly.  Soil: use a mixture of potting soil, tree barks, Perlite, charcoal.

Fertilizer: will help the plant more robust with larger leaves. Follow manufacturer's instruction.  Do it lightly, maybe once every 2 weeks during late Spring and Summer when it is making new leaves. Too much fertilizer will kill the plant. 

Support: if you want the plant to have larger leaves and stem, it has to grow vertically with a support.
