An extremely rare Post Medieval ball padlock with the inscription IHS...

I took this piece to several museums, and no one had ever seen the combination of a ball padlock and the inscription IHS on it. Normally, this remarkable piece belongs in a museum.

For the collector of early locks / padlocks, this piece is truly a 'Must-have'

Material: Wrought iron.

Condition: In a perfect condition for it's age and already conserved. So it can no longer rust. (Please take a look at the pictures and judge for yourself...)

Origin: the Netherlands.

Period: 16th. century.

Height: 2,17 inch. (55 mm.)

Width: 1,54 inch. (39 mm.)

Weight: 52,07 gr.

It was found with a metal detector somewhere in the Netherlands.
