Up for sale is a 2009 Gibson Custom Shop Angus Young "Thunderstruck" SG VOS in Aged Cherry, complete with its original Gibson Custom Shop hard-shell case and Certificate of Authenticity.
Built as a tribute to Angus Young's legendary 1968 SG Standard, this highly collectible Custom Shop model was produced in an extremely limited run of only 200 VOS guitars worldwide. Designed to faithfully capture the look, feel, and tone of Angus' famous stage guitar, it features a lightweight mahogany body, a three-piece quartersawn maple neck, lightning bolt inlays, Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbuckers, and the unique stripped-down electronics that mirror Angus' personal instrument.
At just 7 lbs 2 oz, it's incredibly lightweight, resonant, and built to deliver the explosive rock tone that helped define one of the greatest guitar sounds of all time.
Condition
Very Good – 8.5/10
The finish checking is confined entirely to the clear coat and cannot be felt while playing. It is also very subtle—you can only really see it when shining a light on the neck at the right angle. It does not extend into the wood and has no impact on the guitar's playability or structural integrity.

The guitar is 100% original with no cracks, breaks, repairs, or structural issues.
The neck is straight, the original frets are in excellent condition with virtually no wear, and the guitar has been professionally set up by our in-house luthier. It plays cleanly up and down the neck with low action, excellent intonation, and no buzzing or dead spots.
The original Gibson Custom Shop hard-shell case and Certificate of Authenticity are included.

The pair of Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbuckers delivers exceptional clarity, aggressive mids, and singing sustain while maintaining the dynamic response Angus is known for. In keeping with his personal guitar, the tone controls have been eliminated from the circuit, creating a more direct signal path and allowing the pickups to deliver maximum output and responsiveness.
The slim custom neck profile is exceptionally fast and comfortable, making this one of the easiest-playing SGs Gibson Custom Shop has produced.
One of the signature visual elements is the bound ebony fingerboard with custom lightning bolt inlays, giving this model an unmistakable appearance while honoring Angus' legendary stage presence.
Tone & Feel
This guitar has everything players expect from a great SG—lightweight comfort, explosive attack, outstanding sustain, and effortless upper fret access.
The Pearly Gates pickups produce rich harmonics, tight lows, and aggressive mids that excel at classic rock, blues, hard rock, and high-gain lead playing. The simplified electronics make the guitar feel incredibly immediate and responsive, encouraging players to control dynamics directly from their picking hand and volume controls.
At only 7 lbs 2 oz, it is exceptionally resonant and comfortable for long rehearsals and live performances.
