This is an all-gold ES-335 from the now-defunct Memphis Custom Shop. While there is some weather checking and tarnishing on the hardware, there is no major damage, and it is a relatively good condition used item from 2013.

The Gibson Memphis factory, which operated until 2018 as a factory specializing in hollow-body guitars such as semi-acoustic and full-acoustic guitars, became a division of the Gibson Custom Shop in the late 2000s, producing a wide range of models. In 2013, it became an independent Gibson Memphis brand from the Custom Shop, but this instrument is a Gibson Memphis product from the time it was sold under the Gibson Custom Shop brand.

This ES-335 features a semi-acoustic body constructed from a maple, poplar, and maple laminate with a center block. It boasts a thin mahogany neck with a 43.1mm nut width, a rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers, Grover tuners, nickel hardware, and 57 Classic pickups (well-suited to hollow-body guitars) in both the neck and bridge positions. While the original ES-335 had black escutcheons and a multi-ply black pickguard, this all-gold version features cream-colored escutcheons and a cream-colored 1-ply pickguard, reminiscent of a gold-top Les Paul.

Weather checking is present in various places, particularly around the controls, bridge, and back of the headstock, and the nickel plating has tarnished with age. Other than minor scratches and scuffs on the pickguard, there are no significant cracks or peeling paintwork, suggesting careful handling.

The neck is almost perfectly straight, the truss rod is functioning well, and the frets show only slight wear in the lower positions on the treble strings. There is no noticeable buzzing or dead spots, and considering its age, both the appearance and playability are in excellent condition.

With its all-gold finish, cream-colored plastic parts, and top hat knobs, this guitar has a striking presence. Its warm, acoustic-like semi-acoustic sound is pleasing, and it's a great guitar for anyone looking for a cool, stage-ready instrument.
