A striking example of mid-century Welsh studio pottery from Llangollen Pottery, featuring an organic freeform shape with a hand-painted abstract design in shades of green, turquoise, grey and black beneath a glossy crackle glaze.
The sculptural form and bold modernist decoration make it equally suitable as a serving bowl, fruit bowl or decorative display piece. The impressed LLANGOLLEN backstamp is present on the underside.
In good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs found. There is fine age-related crazing to the glaze, together with light wear and minor staining to the unglazed foot rim, all consistent with age and use. Please study the photographs as they form part of the description.
A distinctive piece of 1950s Welsh art pottery that displays beautifully and fits naturally into Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian and contemporary interiors.
