The Denon DN-770R is a 19” rack-mount studio item with Dolby HX-Pro, separate pitch control on both transports and very solid, Denon build quality.
These models were produced from 1994 until 2001, according to the information given at the Hi-Fi Engine website.
I’ve tested the functions and both the A and B tape transports are working, recording and playing back with fine sound quality (I used a TDK SA cassette for the test), the pitch controls are working correctly, also the reverse function and fast-forward/rewind.
There’s a slight intermittent squeaky sound from the r/h transport. When I tried it at the time of taking the photos, I intended to take a short video so that prospective bidders could hear the sound, but it wouldn’t squeak at all. However, although the deck is sold here as working, this is with the proviso that a good, general service is advised for a vintage audio item like this. Of course, as it could be thirty or more years old, I cannot offer any guarantee in this sale.
It was previously mounted in an equipment rack in a dry, smoke-free environment. As seen in the photos, it has been well looked-after and is in very good aesthetic condition.
