Ōhi Chōzaemon IX 1901–1986 was a Japanese potter and the 9th-generation head of the Ohi family kiln in Kanazawa, specializing in Ohi-yaki (Ohi ware) tea ceramics. He was born in Kanazawa, studied ceramics at the Ishikawa Prefectural Industrial School, and began producing tea utensils at age 16. Widely regarded as one of the greatest masters in the Ohi lineage, he revitalized the tradition and is known for refined low-fired Raku-style pieces, often featuring characteristic amber (ame) glazes, black glazes, and simple, elegant forms for the tea ceremony. His works are held in major collections, including the National Museum of Asian Art. He was succeeded by his son, Ohi Chōzaemon X (Toyasai).
