This historic piece originates from Mitchell's School Atlas, engraved by J.H. Young and published by the renowned American cartographer Samuel Augustus Mitchell in 1854. Mitchell maps from this decade are highly prized for their vibrant, distinct hand-colored highlighting and exceptional descriptive text details.

Important Note on Price Sticker: The white price sticker visible on the lower corner is affixed strictly to the outer plastic shrink wrap. It is NOT on the map itself. The original 19th-century paper remains completely untouched and undamaged by modern adhesives.

Overall Condition: Very good historical condition. Features bright, vibrant original hand-colored outlining and crisp engraved text. The sheet exhibits clean margins with only a minimal amount of light, age-appropriate toning near the edges, adding to its authentic character. Ready for framing.
