Patricia Henry Sage
Tropical Floral Still Life with Anthuriums and Fruit
Pen and Ink with Watercolor on Paper
16" x 13"
Signed lower right and verso
This evocative botanical study by artist Patricia Henry Sage (b. 1940) captures the lush atmosphere of Maui, where the artist was established. A third-generation painter and granddaughter of post-impressionist H. Raymond Henry, Sage employs a precise pen and ink technique layered with soft watercolor washes. The composition features vibrant variegated anthuriums in a blue and white vessel, juxtaposed with yellow pomelos, reflecting the local flora of Lahaina.
Condition: Good vintage condition with vibrant colors and no visible foxing. The frame shows minor surface scuffs and gilt wear along the edges consistent with age.
