Up for sale is a 1990 Fender Made in Japan JBR-800 "Pro Feel" Jazz Bass in Natural, complete with a gig bag.

Built at the legendary FujiGen factory during Fender Japan's golden era, the JBR-800 was one of the company's premium Jazz Bass offerings. Unlike a traditional Jazz Bass, the Pro Feel series combines classic Fender styling with modern performance features including a lightweight ash body, active 9V electronics, a fast-playing maple neck, and a powerful set of Fender Japan Hotrod pickups.

These basses are becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially in original condition, and are widely regarded as some of the finest Japanese-built Fender basses of the early 1990s.

The bass is all original with no cracks, breaks, repairs, or structural issues.

The neck is straight, the frets are in excellent condition with minimal wear, and the bass has been professionally set up by our in-house luthier. It plays cleanly up and down the neck with no buzzing or dead spots.

A gig bag is included.

The JBR-800 was designed to offer modern versatility while maintaining the unmistakable feel of a classic Fender Jazz Bass.

Its pair of Fender Japan Hotrod 7J single-coil pickups deliver the familiar articulation and growl of a traditional Jazz Bass, while the factory-installed 9-volt active preamp adds significantly more tonal flexibility. Independent bass and treble controls allow you to dial in everything from vintage warmth to modern punch, making this bass equally at home in the studio or on stage.

The lightweight ash body provides excellent resonance and sustain, while the heavy-duty bridge enhances note definition and overall stability.

Tone & Feel

This bass has all the clarity, punch, and growl players expect from a great Jazz Bass, with the added benefit of an active preamp for increased output and tonal shaping.

The Hotrod pickups produce articulate highs, tight lows, and rich midrange character, while the active EQ makes it easy to tailor the sound for virtually any musical style.

The slender U-shaped maple neck feels fast and comfortable, and the modern 9.5" fingerboard radius makes this one especially easy to play.

At 9 lbs 6 oz, it has a substantial but well-balanced feel that is comfortable for long rehearsals or gigs.
