Offered for your consideration is a vintage Realistic #1292 5 inch long throw woofer removed from a Minimus 26 speaker manufactured in 1991. The 1292 is identical to the 1264 found in the earlier Minimus 25 and possibly other Realistic and Optimus speakers from Radio Shack in the late 1980’s-early 1990’s.

Please see my large photos, the measurements, and read the remaining description to decide if this capable Realistic mid/bass woofer is correct for your needs.

*Although the listing is written in singular to avoid any confusion, two identical Realistic #1292 woofers are available at time of this writing. Please choose if you’d like to buy one or both in the quantity field at the top of the listing. Any additional shipping cost that may be needed will be added at eBay checkout.

This Realistic 5” woofer is in clean, excellent condition. The sturdy paper cone and textile dustcap have no flaws, as pictured. Plus, the surround is a permanent textile that should last indefinitely, unlike the foam that was still being used industry-wide when it was made.

Also, the anodized steel basket has no dings, scratches, or oxidation noted and looks quite fresh. And, the +/- terminals are marked for polarity and have never been soldered on the spades. Remarkably well-preserved, this driver is practically indistinguishable from new!

Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds terrific—clear and detailed midrange with solid low-end for the platform size. Plus, I tested the DC resistance at 7.0-7.1Ω, consistent with its 7 ohm nominal driver rating. Lastly, the mount flange measures 5” square, the cone is roughly 4¼” to the outer edge of the surround, the assembly stands about 2½” tall (including the surround roll), and the mounting holes are spaced is 313/16” adjacent / 5⅜” on the diagonal, c-t-c.

So, as pictured and described, this outstanding Realistic 5” woofer is offered at a competitive price.
