ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Alfred Richard Blundell was born at Bury St Edmund’s, Suffolk on 24 December 1883.
In 1913 he entered the Slade School of Fine Art and was a landscape painter, etcher, printmaker, and sculptor being noted as a painter of architectural subjects in Britain and on the continent.
An art teacher at Culford School, Bury St Edmund's, Alfred exhibited with the Stour Valley Group in 1922 and was a member of Ipswich Art Club 1936-1946. He also exhibited at the Alpine Club; Liverpool Walker Art Gallery; Manchester City Art Gallery; New English Art Club and at the Royal Academy.
