About 13" high x 7 1/2" diameter.

DESCRIPTION

Rare redware urn / vase / crock with leopard-like manganese splotch glaze.  Probably Maine or New Hampshire origin.  Cylindrical form with flared rim. Lightly incised double ring decorations around the shoulder. Clay coil lines plainly visible. Unglazed base.

CONDITION

Overall very good antique condition.  Small base chip.  Spider hairline on the base, old and well stabilized.  No evidence of repair observed.  Rich, dark color (all visible in the images).  A RARE AND UNUSUAL EARLY 19TH CENTURY GLAZED FOLK ART REDWARE URN / VASE.
