The softly glowing mother of pearl oval at the centre of this Sphinx brooch does something interesting against a full border of blue aurora borealis rhinestones, the quiet iridescence of the shell playing against the livelier flash of the stones around it. A twisted rope wire border between the two adds a little texture that stops the whole thing feeling too simple.
