DESCRIPTION

Beautiful Mason's Ironstone china hexagonal pitcher in Imari form.  Also known as a "Hydra" pitcher.  Classic white, blue, gold and ocher colors.  Pewter or britannia applied handle with a jade-glazed "dragon-tail" knob at the base.  Weighted cover lid.  Blue printed mark reads "MASON'S / PATENT IRONSTONE / CHINA" with a crown and swag logo.  This mark was in use from 1825 to about 1841.  

CONDITION

Overall excellent.  No evident repairs or cracks. One tiny rim flake near the spout.  Great colors and age patina on the metal (all visible in the images).  A WONDERFUL EARLY 19TH CENTURY IMARI PITCHER IN GREAT CONDITION!
