Up for sale is an authentic, original circa 1880 antique map titled "Map to Illustrate the Battles of Pinkie 1547 and Prestonpans 1745".

This historical map was drawn and engraved by the renowned J. Bartholomew for James Taylor’s publication, "The Age We Live In." It beautifully illustrates the military positions, topography, and landmarks surrounding these two historic Scottish conflicts near the Firth of Forth. You can see a close-up of the elegant title cartouche among the photos.

Condition, Presentation & Packaging:

Dimensions: The map itself measures 6 by 7.75 inches (image area).

Display Ready: The item comes safely preserved, shrink-wrapped flat against a clean backing board—ready to display, store, or gift.

Important Sticker Note: As shown in the full overview photo, there is a price sticker on the bottom right corner and another in the upper right. Please be assured that these stickers are adhered directly to the protective plastic shrink wrap, NOT the antique map itself. The map underneath remains entirely untouched.

Edge Detail: There is a small, natural paper chip/wear spot along the top blank margin edge as captured in the overview photo, which does not impact the main engraved map area.

This is a fantastic find for collectors of Scottish history, cartography, or military memorabilia!
