Up for sale is an original Sony PlayStation 3 CECHB01 20GB launch model console complete with its original retail box, factory cardboard inserts, manuals, paperwork, OEM accessories, and HDMI cable.
This is the highly sought-after launch-era CECHB01 model featuring hardware-based backward compatibility for PlayStation 2 games, along with support for PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 3 titles. Unlike the chrome-trimmed CECHA01, the CECHB01 is the only hardware-backward-compatible PlayStation 3 model produced with the distinctive stealth-black trim surrounding the disc slot. This unique all-black appearance gives the console a more understated and refined look while retaining all of the original launch hardware that made the early backward-compatible PlayStation 3 systems legendary among collectors and enthusiasts.
The console has been tested and is fully functional. It remains in exceptionally clean condition for its age and presents extremely well overall. The glossy finish and stealth-black trim retain an excellent appearance with only minor signs of normal handling. Based on its condition, this console appears to have seen relatively light use throughout its life and was clearly well cared for by its previous owner. Visual inspection of the cooling fan vents and exterior ventilation openings reveals remarkably clean airflow passages with very little visible dust accumulation, further supporting the impression that this system was carefully maintained, properly stored, and not subjected to heavy use. The overall presentation of the console, combined with its intact factory warranty seal and exceptionally clean vent areas, makes this one of the nicer original CECHB01 examples I have encountered. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find launch-era CECHB01 systems in this level of cosmetic and overall preserved condition.
All factory identification labels remain intact, including the rear serial number label, HDD door label, and bottom information label.
One of the standout features of this example is its originality. The factory warranty seal remains intact and appears untampered. To the best of my knowledge, the console remains in its original factory configuration.
The included OEM Sony transparent black Sixaxis wireless controller complements the launch-era presentation of the console and adds to the overall collector appeal of the package.
