Well this is something a little bit special isn’t it ! Likened to the Klon and countless other pedals that claim to do the transparent overdrive thing, this smashes it.
Just to be be absoloutly clear - Fairfield have not done a version with a tone stack like this !
The V2 is probably my best selling pedal, but, in my opinion the tone toggle leaves a little to be desired. Some people like the simplicity of it, me, nope - I like tonal options. So, Iv done a version with a 3 band eq so you can really dial in the tone you’re looking for. The rest of the circuit remains the same. I did add in a gain recovery section, but it’s not been necessary to implement it IMO. On the V2, unity sits at around 11 o’clock on the volume knob. On this it’s at between 12 and 1 o’clock - volume for days. If you really wanted it, I can add it for a few quid extra - but honestly ….
The tone stack is the exact same as in Brian Wampler’s ‘Fender’ (can I say that) inspired pedals.
