This auction is for a rare vintage sterling silver miniature jug or creamer made by the famous Mexican silversmith Gerardo Lopez of Taxco, Mexico. The bottom of this little jug says, "Sterling .925 Lopez Taxco Hecho en Mexico" beneath a stylized eagle containing the number "26." I know that this creamer cannot be younger than the early 1960s, as I recall seeing it as a young child. There is some denting around the base and a couple of faint, barely visible dents in the "belly" of the jug, and the jug has a somewhat whitish tint. This is not from any recent cleaning, as it was stored in a silvercloth and I have not attempted to clean it. It sits about 3 1/8" tall and it weighs about 1 (kitchen) oz. (which means, at current [2/26] prices it has about $64 worth of silver in it, if my math is right). This is an adorable little jug with a handle that is somewhat reminiscent of Art Nouveau. A rare and unusual piece for your silver collection! Please note: I am doing my best to describe this item, but please study the pictures carefully and I will happily send more photos if desired. Please ask any questions before bidding as I am not now accepting any returns. Please pay within seven days of the end of the auction. If you buy more than one item, please go ahead and pay for each item separately and when I ship I will combine the items and refund you the difference in the shipping costs. I am shipping only within the U.S. And please email me before leaving negative feedback and I will do my best to resolve any problems. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
