A modern jersey steeped in Colombian history
Cycling jersey technology has moved on since Lucho Herrera became the first Colombian to win a Grand Tour in 1987. When the Colombian claimed both the overall and the King of the Mountains competition at the Vuelta a España, jerseys were heavier, sweatier, and less fitted. Made of a 155gsm fabric and featuring our competitive race fit, the Pro Team Midweight Jersey was developed for training and racing in mild to warm weather, and in this, the Colombia edition, printed to celebrate the rise of one of cycling’s preeminent nations.
Featuring the distinctive Colombian tricolour, the design is supplemented with ‘los escarabajos’ (the beetles), the collective nickname given to Colombian riders. On the right breast, there is a bonded monochrome version of the Colombian roundel patch, inspired by Herrera’s stage win at Lagos de Covadonga. His success took the organisers by such surprise, they had to print his team logo in black and white.
