Vintage Daysun Musical Jewellery Box – Circa 1950s

A charming vintage Daysun musical jewellery box dating from the 1950s, featuring an attractive design and multiple compartments for storing jewellery and treasured keepsakes.

This lovely piece remains in fair vintage condition, commensurate with its age and years of use, and is still in working order.

The exterior shows some age-related wear, including areas where the lacquer has chipped and some loss/flaking to the decorative artwork on the mirror. The musical mechanism is operational; however, it would benefit from a service, as it can occasionally stick and the tune sounds somewhat worn or "rusty" in places. A recording of the mechanism in operation is available to view and listen to in the video within the photo gallery.

Internally, the tassels from the hinged inner compartments are missing, with the one remaining tassel showing signs of fraying. There is also a noticeable old perfume scent within the box.
