Beautiful Antique Edwardian Satinwood Octagonal Occasional Side Table
This elegant antique Edwardian / Sheraton Revival satinwood occasional table, dating from the early 20th century. This sophisticated piece features an eight-sided octagonal top with beautiful grain patterns and a wonderful, warm golden hue.
The standout feature of this table is its highly decorative, incurved (concave) four-pointed star-shaped under shelf connecting four slender, elegant tapered legs. Both the top surface and the lower tier are adorned with delicate, dark double-border marquetry stringing inlay, which also runs vertically down the legs, showcasing excellent period craftsmanship.
Perfect as a plant stand, lamp table, or parlor tea table, its classic proportions allow it to fit seamlessly into both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Overall: Structurally sound, sturdy, and stands evenly.
Top Surface: Features a beautiful satin-like sheen. Please note there are some faint, cloudy white ring marks/water stains near the center-bottom of the octagonal top along with minor surface scuffs consistent with age. This could be easily revived with a light restoration or professional wax.
