An original WW2 double-sided RAF ESCAPE AND EVASION map featuring North West France which came to me with a collection of items that had belonged to Wing Commander J.H.T. Pickering.

It's in very good condition for its age and service use, with the usual light fraying along the edges. Whilst generally referred to as 'silks', escape and evasion maps produced at this stage of the War were usually made from synthetic materials such as rayon.

Included in the sale are a number of photographs of him and others in uniform, along with several official invitations to a series of formal dinners, dances and parties at various RAF bases and Fighter Command HQs. These all seem to have taken place in the late 1940's. A few other event programmes etc, along with some personal photographs of family and friends, are also included. All these items are mounted on card.

Please see my other WW2 (and WW1) maps, manuals, documents, photos etc.
