One of the highest grade hatchets with case manufactured carefully
by a Tosa smith who is working sincerely and steadily with the traditional smith techniques succeeded.

It is a "REAL" hatchet, with the edge of the blade
made of that famous high carbon steel "Aogami Steel".
It is produced by hammer one by one, quite different from ones made of patted clad materials.
It is extremely sharp and sharpness last longer.
However, it gets rust easily so it needs maintenance.

The hatchet handles, of hafts, are made of the sapwood of Japanese white oak.

The iron-steel composite blade can be easily sharpened.

The end of single-edge hatchets is thin and sharp, making them suited to cutting and shaving.

If a single-edge hatchet is used to chop wood, the blade will be easily nicked, and the wood will not be chopped cleanly.
